Suquamish canoe practice

It's summer and time for canoe practice on Port Madison.

The third weekend of August every year is Chief Seattle Days in Suquamish and the annual canoe races. Summer is also the time for the canoe journey.

I enjoy watching the big events but also enjoy the different groups practicing on Port Madison as they pass our house. This little girl was certainly enjoying a nice evening at the bow of a traditional tribal canoe as others in the group practiced and got into shape for the summer activities.
