Pileated Woodpecker, a New "Regular"

With all the snow the past couple weeks our bird feeders became very popular, along with our Koi Pond which had running water through the coldest of days.

This cute guy, a Pileated Woodpecker, became a daily visitor and has become almost friendly as he spends time in the nearby Douglas Fir as well as at our suet feeder.

He does look young. I haven't seen Pileated Woodpeckers in this part of our yard before but it could be because I didn't have any suet out or perhaps he has recently moved in.

Either way, we've been enjoying the new "regular" at the feeders.

Linda,

Thank you! I've been rather lazy about my blog recently but so nice to know that you've found it and plan to return.
