Point No Point Lighthouse Keepers Vacation Rental

We met these kids on the beach at Point No Point when they were attracted to our White Shepherd Abby.

They told us about their German Shepherd and also told us they were staying at the lighthouse.
Obviously the kids were having a grand time.

The weather was perfect and the wide open beach was an endless playground for these cousins from "across the water"

The ability to "stay" at the lighthouse is new this year. The lighthouse keepers house has been turned into a vacation rental.

It is directly next to the lighthouse and right on the water.

This is an amazing place to stay with room for families or small family reunions. Check out their website and consider Winter reservations now. This is one of the best ever places for beach combing and storm watching. Recently named one of the top five shelling beaches in the country by "Travel & Leisure".

Up close and personal with Poulsbo's Harbor Seals

To get some up close and personal photos of harbor seals nothing beats the electric boats. (NW Electric Boat Rentals). This mother seal is relaxing on the breakwater while her baby nurses from the cool water.

Kayaks are great for getting up close but a little scary when balancing camera equipment.
Checking us out, but not bothered by our passing.

Mom and baby. We saw more baby Harbor Seals than I have seen in past years.

North Kitsap Sailing Lessons

We were heading out for some crabbing and passed this sailing class.

I like the vivid red and white sails against the overall blue water and background.

Just the lead sailor is in sunlight, the rest are in shadow before they make the turn at the buoy.

Blue Heron at Theler Wetlands

Nice walk at Theler Wetlands today.

A little late for the early morning activity but had fun watching this Blue Heron catch and eat this fish.

Paddle Kitsap Group Photo 2008

Paddle Kitsap paddlers group photo, start of day two, leaving Kingston, WA.

Paddle Kitsap Passing Indianola

Paddle Kitsap passing Indianola at a low, low tide.

Paddle Kitsap: Agate Passage

Paddlers on the Paddle Kitsap journey passing under the Agate Pass Bridge.

The two day paddle was planned so that paddlers would travel through Agate Passage with the incoming tide.

After a fairly rough first day of paddling, the second day was welcomed and the easy glide through Agate Passage, from Suquamish towards Liberty Bay, was like a theme park ride - pure joy!

Seattle's Tallest Buildings: Then and Now

Another Seattle building composition.

The Smith Tower, once the tallest building outside New York City, with the Columbia Tower, now the tallest building in Seattle behind it.

Again I like the contrasts; old and new, and black and white.

Seattle Building Contrasts

I like the contrasts in this photo taken in Seattle yesterday.

The building styles, the colors, the lines and then the reflection of one building on the other.
