Several miles outside the western entrance to Yellowstone I finally got a photo of Moose. I saw a few others but this time we stopped and got a decent photo.
On down the road we spotted what we knew immediately was a wolf. We were well outside the park and wolves become rather controversial when they leave the park so this was a fairly unusual sighting.
The black wolf was walking parrallel to the road through a wide valley. Once we stopped it, reversed direction, walked a bit and then kicked into the distictive loap of a wolf. I got several pictures and wish I had been fast enough to switch to the video on my camera but I was afraid to try and then miss the pictures. Really do need to play with the video more.
I like this picture because she was looking right at me.

This was my best birthday gift ever.
