Eagle Portrait

I am going to miss our eagles when we are gone. This year seems to be a repeat of last year with a lot of talking and perhaps territorial wars but no one sitting on a nest. One local pair are often seen sitting in a large Douglas Fir above our yard which means neither is sitting on a nest. Others seem to be competing for the same territory which causes some very loud discussions.

I'll have to leave and see what happens while we're gone. Tonight was beautiful with the low light on the eagles and the beautiful blue sky in the background. Just one more reason it is hard to leave this amazing place.
